If this is true then why is ionic silver less effective than colloid silver?
The reason is that although silver ions are the best at killing bacteria, viruses, and some fungal infections, they virtually never reach the target organisms. This is because they combine rapidly with other free ions and become an ineffective compound such as silver chloride. The reason why true colloids are so much more effective is that they do not combine with anything, they pass through cell walls and enter the bloodstream.
